Hello Friends and Family, we realized that we have not updated everyone about over 4 months, and thought that you might want one! Here are a few things that are happening with the Griswolds.

Vacation

Tamila and I just got back from a whirlwind vacation. Last Friday we took off to Atlanta, Georgia for an evening and half a day with some friends that have recently moved. It was great to be able to see them; we are sad they have moved from Louisville, but we can see God working as they are making the transition to Atlanta.

Saturday morning we took off for another 6 hour drive to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to spend the week with the Harmon Family. (Billy Harmon used to be on staff at Eastside, the church which we attend). It was great to spend time with their family and get some sunshine! Also, I swam with a shark—not on purpose, but it did happen! No arms or legs were bitten, but my heart was definitely pounding.

After spending some days on the beach, we traveled three hours to Columbia, SC to visit some of my extended family. It was a blessing to see family that I have not seen in quite a few years. Further, it was great to rejoice over what God was doing in our lives.

Work

Our vacation was much needed with the amount of hours Tamila and I are both putting in. At the seminary we had back to back conferences since the middle of June and before that I traveled to Houston, TX to work media at the Southern Baptist Convention for SBTS. Tamila has been working full time as a nanny for this summer, so we were excited for some away!

Also, our trip to Uganda was sadly moved to next summer (2014). We are still looking forward to the possibility of traveling oversees next summer.

The Rest of the Summer – Prayer Requests

We are putting the finishing touches on our apartment. Moving in the middle of the semester really put a damper on finishing all the little projects. However, we love our new place! Tamila is doing a great job putting things together in her “spare” time. Pray that our home would be a place where hospitality is shown, and that the gospel would go forth because of it.

I will be preaching at Eastside at the end of the month. I am looking forward to another chance to preach at Eastside and am grateful for the church being willing to have me preach. Pray that the time I have in the word would be fruitful.

We want the rest of the summer to still have elements of rest in it. We have had a crazy few months and don’t want to burn ourselves out. So now comes the hard decisions of what things we need to cut out of our lives to make sure we are not burning ourselves out. Pray that we would know God as our resting place, not things of this world.

A Big Thanks

We always want to say thank you for all the encouragement we receive from you all. We know we are loved and prayed for, and for that we are grateful.

As always, continue in following Christ,

Jeremy and Tamila
